The Mexico City temple was the first of 12 temples built in Mexico. Other temples are located in Ciudad Juárez, Colonia Juárez Chihuahua, Guadalajara, Hermosillo, Mérida, Monterrey, Oaxaca, Tampico, Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Veracruz and Villahermosa.
The Mexico City temple district covers Mexico City, the state of Mexico and the states of Baja California Sur, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Michoacán, Morelos, Puebla, Querétaro and San Luis Potosí (approximately 264,000 Church members).
