Glossary of Terms
This glossary defines words used by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that might not be familiar to those who are not members.
Elder
One of the ordained offices in the Melchizedek Priesthood, the higher order of the priesthood. Elders are ministers of Christ, called upon to administer spiritual matters in the Church.
Endowment
A bestowing of knowledge and understanding of gospel principles given in temples to faithful Latter-day Saints.
Exaltation
A term used to describe the ultimate state of living in the presence of God for eternity.
